| I am Robert Kennedy, a sculptor
who has worked from a studio at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff since 1985.
Over that time quite a wide range of subjects and materials have been
approached within my sculptural practice. Most of the things I am commissioned
to produce are made with many members of the public, or are for celebratory
and commemorative events.
Stone is the material that I use most frequently for the work I produce.
The most important aspect of what I do is the way in which I work with
other people.
For many years I carved stone by hand, and still enjoy doing so, although
I have now introduced a few new technical changes to enable as much creative
access for all abilities and ages.
Every project I do has different references and readings, all related
to the specific localities I am asked to work in. One of the common threads
in most of the projects I work on is the merging of text and imagery on
surfaces. |
